Teachers who never stop learning
Our teachers are lifelong learners. They stay current through regular training and keep improving how they teach students.
Recently all our teachers have undertaken the Berry Street Training which is a professional development program designed to equip educators and service providers with trauma-informed practices and strategies to support students who have experienced adversity. The training focuses on understanding the impact of trauma on learning and behaviour, building safe and supportive learning environments, and fostering resilience and positive relationships. It provides practical tools and frameworks to help staff respond effectively to complex student needs, improve engagement, and promote wellbeing in schools and other educational settings.
Teacher–family partnerships
Our teachers build trust through clear communication. Our families know that their child has support and is ready to learn.
We build this through:
- Open and regular communication.
- Welcoming environment
- Collaborative goal setting
- Cultural sensitivity and inclusion
- Parent education and support
- Engage families in decision making
- Professional development of staff.
Wellbeing and support staff
Our wellbeing and support staff guide student wellbeing, learning needs and inclusion. They work with teachers to make personalised adjustments. This means each child can take part fully in school life. We make our school welcoming and accessible to every child.
